The interior of the case is very special. I love how Delsey thought outside the box a little for this case. It’s smartly designed with a unique 90/10 opening which allows the case to be packed like soft side luggage. Instead of laying your bag on the floor, fighting it when you try to open a heavy lid, you’ll be able to open the top with ease since it’s only meant for small items.

Inside we have a water resistant fly away pocket great for toiletries and damp items. A mesh pocket is provided as well with allows you to separate dirty clothes from clean without getting musty. Another small zippered pocket is great for smaller items.

Tie down straps are provided to keep clothing from shifting, which is always good, especially when all your clothes are on one side. This bag would work really well with packing cubes since you’ll be able to stack more items on top of each other.

This carry-on from Delsey does appear to be very durable. Some hardside suitcases hold up as far as functioning as a suitcase, but they may look a little rough after a few trips, with some battle scars, aka scratches and scuffs. This Delsey is exceptional because it seems to go unscathed even with frequent use. It is not prone to scratches and scuffs.

It will do more than function after repeated use, it will look good, helping you to look your best in turn.

Some users have reported the zippers get stuck on the interior lining. That happens with a lot of bags. A luggage pro’s remedy?- Do a little trimming with those tiny scissors and clean up any little threads poking out. Oh, and be nice to your suitcase. They have feelings too.

This Delsey Cruise Lite Carry-On goes for around $85 depending on the sale. $85 is a little steep for one carry-on bag in my opinion. However, you are getting a high quality, well crafted suitcase that’s brand has an excellent reputation.

So if you travel regularly, or your willing to splurge on something a little nicer, it’s worth it with this bag. You’re getting a piece of luggage that will last, and continue looking good even after some time.

There are of course cheaper carry-on’s. However, in my honest opinion I haven’t seen one quite like this that functions like a softside case but has the security of a hardside. I would purchase this for myself or as a gift for a loved one.

I’m surprised this is not rated higher, and I’m convinced with some more time, the score will go up for this bag. Users love the 90/10 packing style of this case. Wow! Just stunning! This Delsey Bastille Lite Suitcase is really a beauty. It’s attractive minimalist design instantly caught my eye. It’s not just pretty on the outside either, but also gorgeous within and showcases some great features.

Inside this beauty is a split book opening style providing two full packing compartments and a zippered divider. It’s designed to keep everything neat and organized without adding too much extra weight.

Ultra lightweight and durable, it’s crafted of patent-pending Delsey exclusive thermoplastic composite. That apparently makes this bag shock resistant, extremely durable and one of the lightest cases on the market.

As far as the design itself, the ripped metal look and trendy colors make the Delsey Bastille Lite suitcase look beautiful. I really love the glossy finish because it can be easily wiped clean. The hardcase is thermoplastic composite, which means it’s not only attractive but more importantly very durable while still being lightweight. But their Achilles heel is usually a tendency to get scuffed. I talk about this in more detail further down in the article under User Reviews.

As for the wheels, they roll smooth and silent even on more bumpy surfaces. The wheels also keep the bag balanced so it’s never top heavy, and takes all the weight off your body.

I’m guilty of the whole rearrange my items, sit on the luggage, pull the zipper, and repeat until you get the bag closed, routine. But this Delsey luggage expands to give you 2 extra inches. And by the way, the zippers are different colors so that you know which zipper is for what.

As the pictures show, there is a TSA approved zipper lock. The fact that it comes with a built in lock is so much better than having to mess with a purchased after-market lock.

All the color options are really practical and professional. I’m head over heels for the pearl grey. It has rose gold hardware that make for a lovely contrast. It gives it a very rich feel. The black case has silver hardware. And the blue, which is more of a medium blue, has a darker silver, almost charcoal color metal-like hardware.

The fully lined interior offers split book opening providing two full packing compartments. One side is with a zippered divider, along with a outer mesh pocket and two shoe pockets.

On the opposite side is an extra small zipper pocket which is excellent for jewelry or other little things. Plus compression straps are there to soundly secure the bags contents.

The compartments make it much easier to keep the bag organized. This would be a great bag to utilize some packing cubes. The bag is not overly complicated inside. Rather it fits the overall minimalist feel of the Delsey Bastille Lite line.

Delsey has established a reputation for strong and durable luggage. The Delsey team put all their models through a rigorous testing system, and only the strongest survive to make it to the market. The Delsey Bastille Lite suitcase seems to stay true to the brand’s good reputation.

Ribs across the front of the case seem to help reduce bowing when heavy items are placed on top of it (when closed). The corners appear sturdy, however I did read one review about the case denting, as is the problem with some hardside luggage. It’s not a common problem, but it’s definitely something to be aware of. The good news is this suitcase comes with a 10 year warranty. 

I also spent quite a bit of time reading over user reviews to see if there were any issues with the handle twisting and breaking, or the wheels not rolling smoothly, but did not find any. So it seems that this Delsey luggage is a great choice for long term travel.

A more common complaint is that the case scuffs easily. This is an issue with most hardcase luggage. And because of the glossy finish, the scuffs or scratches stand out even more. However, in most cases these scuffs can be buffed out.

The Delsey Bastille Lite Suitcase can be found around $130 and up, depending on what kind of sale you find. I feel this is a great price for a product that will most likely withstand years of use.

Delsey has more expensive models to choose from with some more high-end features, but this is one the lightest on the market. Making it an appealing mid-range option while still getting the Delsey brand of durability and style.

At only 7.3 pounds reviewers are raving over the ultra-lightweight of this bag. Lighter bag means more room to pack, which is totally what I want in a suitcase.  In addition the 4 spinning smooth-gliding wheels insure this luggage will not likely be a source of back pain on a trip.

As first glance I’m not necessarily impressed with the appearance of this bag. However, I’m a firm believer in never judging a book by it’s cover. And as I reason on why it looks the way it does, it all makes so much sense. It’s a solid color, polyester material that is made to be ultra-lightweight and durable. Whatever mother nature throws at this case, it will likely prevail because of the water-repellent exterior.

We’ve all watched in horror as our bags were roughly handled by airport workers. With this bag the damage is sure to be little to none. Well-crafted reinforced corners and scratch resistant fabric between the wheels are smartly designed to minimize any impact at typical stress points. Spinning wheels take the pressure off your body and glide multi-directional to insure easier maneuverability.

Two exterior pockets are well placed for  easy access and large enough to store multiple items. I’d definitely slide in an extra pair of shoes in the largest pocket, in case I need to make a mad dash in the airport because I took too long smelling perfume.

A sturdy telescoping upright handle is included for ease of movement as well as a handy top handle. Very importantly an integrated privacy ID tag is also there to keep your bag safer.

The Delsey Chatillon Wheeled Garment Bag comes in 2 colors: bright blue, and black.

I love how vivid the blue bag is. It would be hard to loose at the airport because it really stands out, in a good way. Although it doesn’t stand out, black is always professional and practical. For me I would tie a scarf or a colorful ribbon around the top handle to add character, and help me locate it in a busy airport.

Either color is gender neutral and a sensible choice for any businessman or woman.

Delsey really gave us a lot of size options when it comes to the Chatillon line. Because I love having a matching set, to me this is a very good thing. The 15″ tote is the smallest, then next comes the piece this review is about at 20”. Additionally there is a 21″ carry-on, 25″ spinner, 28″ duffel-bag, and a large 29″ spinner.

A really awesome feature on the 25″ and the 29″ inch spinners has an “Overweight Indicator’ that tells you if your packed case is over 50 pounds! Who doesn’t need that?

Of course great features and design are only as good as long as they last. Delsey has established a reputation for practical and durable luggage. Delsey Chatillon Wheeled Garment Bag seems to uphold that reputation.

Water-repellent DuraTec nylon durable is a material and can withstand a lot of travel, even rough and tough travel. Well-crafted reinforced corners and scratch resistant fabric between the wheels are smartly designed to minimize any impact at typical stress points. One user commented this bag made it through Europe and back on 8 flights without a scratch.

I also spent quite a bit of time reading over user reviews to see if there were any issues with the handle twisting and breaking. It appears that is a very rare issue. I always worry the wheels on a spinner bag like this will cause frustration and stop rolling smoothly, but did not find any negative comments about these wheels’ functionality. So it seems that this Delsey luggage holds up well even after repeated use.

It’s good to remember this is not a hardside case. The nylon fabric is meant to be flexible. So when reviewers say it’s flimsy, which is not a common complaint, but there nonetheless, it’s good to remember the difference between a a soft outer shell like this one, and a hard shell. A hardshell is obviously going to be better if you have something fragile, but a soft flexible case is advantageous if you want to squeeze in more or for clothing. So don’t go packing fine china in a softcase bag.

The Delsey Chatillon Wheeled Garment Bag has an MSRP at $199, but can be found around $135, depending on what kind of sale you find. For me, I feel this is a great price (when on sale) for a product that will most likely last for years.

The worth of a product is very subjective. Like shoes, or perhaps wine. Diffrent price points for diffrent people. There are definitely more expensive models to choose from, and cheaper models. Therefore, this is nice mid-range option while still getting the Delsey brand and durability.

The dimensions of this bag, 20″ high and about 10″ wide, are suitable for most airlines as a carry-on. Where you may run into trouble is if you pack it too heavy. This a very roomy garment bag, so you could easily over-pack it. It’s best, as always, to check the weight of any bag, especially if you’re flying coach on a stingy airline. 

My first reaction to this Delsey Underseat Tote was “Oooo I want this!”. This piece is really a woman’s dream tote. I love how the tote is organized with lots of pockets and compartments. There is a space for everything, so all my carry-on essentials don’t get jumbled together in one big pocket.

The Delsey Underseat Tote Luggage is made of a soft fabric polyester blend. The diamond shaped quilted pattern gives the tote a nice textured look and feel. The fabric seems to hold up quite well and wipes easily.

The outside has plenty of pockets to help organize your travel essentials just the way you want it. There is a side zip pocket with a mesh elastic pocket inside, perfect for keeping something you don’t want exposed, but want to get to quickly (like lip gloss or deodorant). On the other side is an exposed elastic mesh pocket, just right for a water bottle or umbrella. Or both.

It has an easily accessible front pocket that’s perfect for storing a your passport, tickets, and of course snacks. It’s much easier to stay organized with this tote.

The black and pink is a safe choice with a pop of color inside. Of course black pretty much goes with everything, so you can’t go wrong there.

The purple is more of a plum color, which is stylish and unique. Not sure about the yellow lining, but it is a nice contrasting color.

I really like the brown because is a soft chocolate brown, with a lovely turquoise blue lining. Also brown tends to hide lint better than black.

For such a small piece of luggage, the space inside the tote is amazing. It’s like the Tardis (Doctor Who fans know).

The main compartment has enough pockets for everything you can think of. And the foam padded pockets provide protection for more fragile valuables.

With so much room, the Delsey tote really could be used for a weekend getaway. You can pack in extra clothes and even a additional pair of shoes. In addition to the larger pockets there are several smaller pockets that would be great for electronics and toiletries.

I really love this for business travel because you can wear some comfy “commuter” clothes and shoes on the plane and then glam up in a jiffy with a fresh outfit and pair of heels.

The interior is also attractive with colors that pop but are still classy and professional.

What makes this tote the perfect “Underseat” piece of luggage is the main front compartment, as shown in the first picture. So even while the bag is stowed under the seat on a flight you can easily pull out your tablet, phone, etc. In fact, even while waiting in the airport it’s great because you don’t have to lay your luggage down and open it up to access these items.

I know I want a travel tote I can count on. A tote that is stylish, but durable enough to withstand my frequent travels.

At first glance this bag may look a bit fragile. I was worried the soft fabric may rip or tear. However, according to my research and consumer reviews this is actually one of the most durable travel totes on the market.

The exterior is made from very high quality durable polyester that is designed to handle regular travel. It can also be easily spot cleaned without wearing out.

This tote is extremely well-made and durable. It definitely lives up to the reputation of Delsey for style and quality design.

At around $80 and up (depending on the sale) it’s definitely not the cheapest tote on the market.

I think this luggage is right on the money in regards to sturdiness. It’s equipped to last for years of travel use. The hardcase is 100% polycarbonate like many Delsey suitcases. It’s not only attractive but more importantly very durable while still being lightweight.

I’m guilty of the whole rearrange my items, sit on the luggage, pull the zipper, and repeat until you get the bag closed, routine. But this Delsey luggage expands to give you 2 extra inches. With a carry-on you always need it.

By the way, all the zippers are different colors so that you know which zipper is for what. That’s the first time I’ve seen that.

As the pictures show, there is a TSA approved zipper lock. The fact that it comes with a built in lock is so much better than having to mess with a purchased after-market lock.

The wheels glide effortlessly on various surfaces, and the spinner design allows for 360 degree maneuvering. The retractable handle feels comfortable in the palm, and pushes back flat against the case when I’m not using it.

I really love the glossy finish because it can be easily wiped clean. It also has a neat ribbed texture that make it stand out more, compared to a flat finish.

All the color options are really contemporary. The purple is a very beautiful shade, and not too feminine. The red stands out the most, and the titanium is a great modern yet professional color.

The fully lined interior offers two packing compartments. One side is with a zippered divider, along with compression straps behind the compartment. On the same side is an extra small zipper pocket.

The other side also has compression straps. I thought that was pretty cool because most luggage pieces do not have the compression straps on both sides. Included in the middle is a small pocket.

The compartments make it much easier to keep the bag organized. Even if the bag gets tossed around everything stays neat and secure.

It’s true great features and design are only as good as they last. Delsey has established a reputation for strong and durable luggage. The Delsey Helium Aero carry-on seems to stay true to the brand’s good reputation.

Ribs across the front of the case seem to help reduce bowing when heavy items are placed on top of it (when closed). The corners appear sturdy and I didn’t read any reviews about them cracking, as is the problem with some hardside luggage.

I also spent quite a bit of time reading over user reviews to see if there were any issues with the handle twisting and breaking, or the wheels not rolling smoothly, but did not find any. So it seems that this Delsey luggage is a great choice for long term travel.

The one thing that holds me back from giving this piece a 100 on durability is the lock. One reviewer reported the combination lock broke after 5 months use. This could have been because of airport rough handling, or customer use. It was only one review, but either way the problem can’t be ignored, since the combination lock is a big selling point for this piece.

A more common complaint is that the case scuffs easily. This is an issue with most hardcase luggage. And because of the glossy finish, the scuffs or scratches stand out even more. But this is a drawback you have to except unless you go with textured or matte-finish hardcase luggage.

The 21″ Delsey Helium Aero Carry-On can be found around $100 and up, depending on what kind of sale you find. I feel this is a great price for a product that will most likely withstand years of use.

Delsey has more expensive models to choose from with some more fancy features, but this is nice mid-range option while still getting the Delsey brand and durability.

A hard case with a soft clean touch of elegant leather trims. There are 3 handles; a retractile silver handle on top, and leather handles on the top and side.

Hopefully you haven’t been there, but for those who have had their luggage lost it’s a nightmare. Delsey has helped a little in this area by including an identification plate on the back.

One of the coolest and most unique things about this piece is the wheel locking mechanism. It’s actually a nifty dial on the back you can turn to “stop” or “go”. So while you’re jetting through an airport because your layover was too short, turn to “go” and well, go! When waiting in line, hit “stop” to keep it from rolling off. Now why don’t all suitcases have this feature?

Overall color options are stylish and expensive looking. That luxury “posh” vibe is all over this suitcase. I especially love the two-toned look of the contrasting but complementary leather details.

To me, many hardside suitcases look so… industrial. Utilitarian. You know, like men designed it for… men. But with the Chatelet model, Delsey has given it a soft, subtly feminine look with the same durability of other hard cases. Don’t worry though guys, it’s not pink. So it’s still okay to own one!

Some sites describe the Champagne color as ivory. My initial concern with lighter colors is that it would quickly become dirty looking, but thankfully the material wipes clean easily.

The fully lined interior offers two packing compartments with a zippered divider on one side and tie-down straps on the other. I love how the compartments can separate bulky rough items like shoes, toiletries, and power charges from more delicate and expensive clothing. Plus after a few days, the used clothes can go on one side and fresh ones on the other.

It also comes with 2 separate matching bags made of the same soft lining. When traveling I always have to remember to bring extra bags to separate my dirty shoes or clothes, so I love the fact these 2 bags are included. So much more stylish than a grocery bag! There is also even a flexible clothes hanger inside.

One of my favorite features of the Delsey Chatelet is how even the inside lining was given attention. It’s a bold but elegant crimson red color. Which I absolutely love. What an improvement over the standard 50 shades of gray most use for the interior.

The hardcase is constructed from 100% Bayer virgin makrolon polycarbonate. Which is awesome. Ok… so I honestly had no idea what that actually is. But I researched it. Apparently it’s the latest and greatest. This plastic is an exceptionally strong yet flexible material and can handle temperatures up to 298 degrees Fahrenheit. You know, just in case you get the urge to set your luggage near a fire.

As I read thoroughly through customer reviews many reviewers say this case is practically invincible. I guess this is due to the Bayer makrolon poly it is designed from. One website went has far as to say this plastic is “shatter proof”. So extremely durable, even after months of use. The wheels especially are known to hold up well.

I think the biggest proof that the Delsey Chatelet is built for years of use, is their warranty. They provide an impressive 10 year limited warranty. Not many other companies do that. Samsonite does a 10 year warranty on some of their luggage products, but hey, their entire brand is built around durability. Designer luggage, though, with a good warranty make this piece a great buy.

The Delsey Chatelet Luggage an economy piece? Not so much. It’s a little pricey compared to other hardside luggage. But I think it looks more expensive than it is. It truly looks and feels high end. You know, for me I feel like I could walk into a fancy Italian hotel with this and fit right in. With a nice dress and heels of course.

If you are looking for something lower cost, and less “designer-ish” then I suggest the Beverly Hills Country Club Newport or the Rockland Leopard for those wanting something even more bold.
